The prophet Muhammad

the word "Islam " is derived from the Arabic root "salam" which means "peace and purity in English. So , Do you believe that this religion that carries the meaning of peace could be a terrorist religion.
"Islam" also means complete submission to God (Allah) by following commands without any objection as He is only The One who deserves to be obeyed

The prophet Muhammad

Muhammad was born in Makkah in the year 570. Since his father died before his birth and his mother died shortly thereafter, he was raised by his uncle who was from the respected tribe of Quraysh. He was raised illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained so till his death. His people, before his mission as a prophet, were ignorant of science and most of them were illiterate. As he grew up, he became known to be truthful, honest, trustworthy, generous, and sincere. He was so trustworthy that they called him the Trustworthy. muhammad was very religious, and he had long detested the decadence and idolatry of his society.
Unlike the founders of many religious, the final prophet of Islam is a real documented and historical figure. He lived in the full light of history, and the most minute details of his life are known. Not only do Muslims have the complete text of God's words that were revealed to Muhammad, but they have also preserved his saying and teachings in what is called "hadith" literature. This having been said, it should be understood that Muslims believe that the prophet muhammad was only a man chosen by God, and that he is not divine in any way. In order to avoid the misguided wish to deify him, the prophet muhammad taught Muslims to refer to him as "God's Messenger and His Slave". The mission of the last and final prophet of God was to simply teach that "there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God", as well as being a living example of God's revelation
The Islamic Way of Life
In the Holy Qur'an, God teaches human beings that they were created in order to worship Him, and that the basis of all true worship is God-consciousness. Since the teachings of Islamic encompass all aspects of life and ethics, God-consciousness is encouraged in all human affairs. Islam makes it clear that all human acts are acts of worship if they are done for God alone and in accordance to His Divine Law. As such, worship in Islam is not limited to religious rituals. The teachings of Islam act as a mercy and a healing for the human soul, and such qualities as humility, sincerity, patience and charity are strongly encouraged. Additionally, Islam condemns pride and self-righteousness, since Almighty God is the only judge of human righteousness. The Islamic view of the nature of man is also realistic and well-balanced. Human beings are not believed to be inherently sinful, but are seen as equally capable of both good and evil. Islam also teaches that faith and action go hand-in-hand. God has given people free-will, and the measure of one's faith is one's deeds and actions. However, human beings have also been created weak and regularly fall into sin. This is the nature of the human being as created by God in His Wisdom, and it is not inherently "corrupt" or in need of repair. This is because the avenue of repentance of always open to all human beings,
wars in Islam :
According to the Qur'an, God has created all of humankind equal, and has given each the right to pursue their own destiny. The life, honor and property of all people in a Muslim society are considered sacred, whether the person is Muslim or not. Racism, sexism and prejudice of any sort are unacceptable in Islam. The Qur'an speaks of human equality in the following terms:

"O humankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly, the most honored of you in God's sight is the greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware." (Qur'an 49:13)

The right to life is the most basic of human rights; the Qur'an equates the unjust killing of a single person to killing all of humankind: "And whoever kills a soul…, should be as though he has killed all of humankind." (Qur'an 5:32)

Dealing equitably and protecting the rights of every individual is the cornerstone of a Muslim society. God further states in the Qur'an: "O you who believe! Stand up firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not hatred of a people invite you to act inequitably; act justly, that is nearer to piety, and be conscious of (your duty to) God, surely God is aware of all that you do." (Qur'an 5:8).

Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of one's faith, or on the part of those whose basic rights have been violated. It lays down strict rules of combat that include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees, and livestock. As Muslims see it, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good people were not prepared to fight for a righteous cause.

God says in the Qur'an: "Permission (to defend) has been granted to those who are being fought against; that they have been oppressed. Verily, God has the power to help them. Those who were unjustly expelled from their homes for no other reason than their saying: 'God is our Lord.' If God were not to repel some human beings through others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the name of God is mentioned, would have certainly been destroyed. God will definably help those who will help Him. Verily, God is Immensely Strong, Mighty." (Qur'an 22:39-40)

War is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The often misunderstood and overused term jihad literally means "struggle" and not "holy war" (a term not found anywhere in the Qur'an). Jihad, as Islamic concept, can be on a personal level - inner struggle against evil within oneself; struggle for decency and goodness on the social level; and struggle on the battlefield, if and when necessary
What Does Islam Say about Terrorism?
Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. Islam, the religion of tolerance, holds the human soul in high esteem, and considers the attack against innocent human beings a grave sin, this is backed by the Qur'anic verse which reads
" Who so ever kills a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he has killed all mankind, and who so ever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind," (Al-Ma'dah:32).
"The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is reported to have said, 'A believer remains within the scope of his religion as long as he doesn't kill another person illegally'," the prominent scholar said In the Quran, God has said:
God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers. (Quran, 60:8
Moreover, haphazard killing where the rough is taken with the smooth and where innocents are killed along with wrongdoers is totally forbidden in Islam. No one, as far as Islam is concerned, is held responsible for another's actions. Upon seeing a woman killed in the battlefield, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, denied the act and said: "That woman shouldn't have been killed anyway!".
Even in times of war, Muslims are not allowed to kill anybody safe except the one who is indulged in face-to-face confrontation with them. They are not allowed to kill women, old persons, children, or even a monk in his religious seclusion
The prophet muhammad used to prohibit soldiers from killing women and children,1 and he would advise them: {...Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child.}2 And he also said: {Whoever has killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance is found for a span of forty years.}3
Also, the prophet muhammad has forbidden punishment with fire.4
He once listed murder as the second of the major sins,5 and he even warned that on the Day of Judgment, {The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed.6}7
Muslims are even encouraged to be kind to animals and are forbidden to hurt them. Once the prophet muhammad said: {A woman was punished because she imprisoned a cat until it died. On account of this, she was doomed to Hell. While she imprisoned it, she did not give the cat food or drink, nor did she free it to eat the insects of the earth.}8
He also said that a man gave a very thirsty dog a drink, so God forgave his sins for this action. The prophet was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?” He said: {There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.}9
Additionally, while taking the life of an animal for food, Muslims are commanded to do so in a manner that causes the least amount of fright and suffering possible. The prophet muhammad said: {When you slaughter an animal, do so in the best way. One should sharpen his knife to reduce the suffering of the animal.}10 If such is the ruling applied in protecting animals, no doubt, aggression against human beings, a fortiori, deserves greater protection, for human beings are honored by Allah Almighty and are His vicegerents on earth,"
In light of these and other Islamic texts, the act of inciting terror in the hearts of defenseless civilians, the wholesale destruction of buildings and properties, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam and he will be punished on the Day of Judgment . If such attacks were carried out by a Muslim - as some biased groups claim - then we, in the name of our religion, deny the act and incriminate the perpetrator. We do confirm that the aggressor deserves the deterrent punishment irrespective of his religion, race or gender.
What we warn against, is to hold a whole nation accountable for a crime carried out by a limited number of people or to characterize a certain religion as a faith giving support to violence and terrorism . when the well-known Oklahoma incident was carried out by a Christian American, who was driven by a personal interests, Christianity, America or even the Christian world, were not accused of the attack because a Christian masterminded it. However , Islam has ordered us to fight in case of defence and this is backed by the Qur'anic verse that reads: "Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loves not, aggressors,"
How does Islam elevate the status of women?
________________________________________
________________________________________
According to the Qur'an, men and women are equal before God; both created for the sole purpose of worshipping god through faith and good deeds.
"O humankind! Be conscious of your Lord Who created you from a single soul, and out of it created its mate, and out of the two spread countless men and women. Be conscious of your Lord through Whom you demand your mutual rights and honor the wombs; God always watches over you." (Qur'an 4:1)
Facts:
Women have suffered great injustices throughout the ages; they have been deeply wronged, profoundly exploited, despite the fact that they are the mothers, the sisters, the wives, the daughters and the aunties; all of whom are the gentlest of creation and the dearest of humans to our hearts.
I will project to you, dear readers, the injustices women were subjected to in the olden and in modern times, then I will shed the lights on the mercy bestowed by the Lord of the worlds on women, and how He has honored them and elevated their status. So, please stay with me until the end.
Before Islam, Arabs used to bury the newborn baby girlsalive or throw them into a well in a very brutal manner.
Jews described her as a curse because she was the reason of seduction; that she was dirty when in menstruation and they permitted her father to sell her.
In Christianity: The French held a conference in 586 AD to determine if the woman could be considered human or not, and whether she had a soul or not. If she had a soul, they asked was it a human soul an animal’s soul? And if it were a human’s soul, was it at the same level as that of a man’s or at a lower level? They finally decided that she was human, but she was created only to serve the man. The English parliament issued a decree during the reign of Henry the 8th, which banned women from reading the New Testament because they were sullied and dirty. Luther, the head of the Protestants (which make up the majority of the American population today) said, “If women tire, or even die; all this doesn’t matter. Let them die during birth, for this is the reason they were created”.
And when the anesthetization was introduced for childbirth in 1847, the church objected to it being used. It claimed that God said, in the holy book, to Eve after committing the sin and eating from the forbidden tree, “With pain shall you give birth”; as if to say, “how could we have mercy on women, when God has decided that she suffers during birth? We then have to help God in his revenge on women !!”
Before Islam, Arabs used to bury the newborn baby girls alive or throw them into a well in a very brutal manner.
Women's rights in the world's conscience in figures :
To exercise injustice over the weakness of women, here is where manhood has been marred. Where is the so-called manhood when tyranny is exercised over women?
Let the figures speak for themselves about the conscience of the civilized world from China to America!
Statistics indicate that one out of every three girls aged 14 years, is subjected to rape; there are half a million American rape cases yearly; 61% of American girls lose their virginity before the age of 12 and studies show that four million American women get beaten each year at the rate of one every 15 seconds.
The Times Magazine published a report on incidents of beatings that American wives encounter, and stated that between 2000 to 4000 wives get beaten to death.
The ‘Women Institute’ in Madrid, Spain, revealed a set of staggering statistics about America alone… Let us have a look:
- In 1986, 27% of the citizens live off women’s expenses!
- In 1997 according to the associations defending women’s rights, a woman gets raped every 3 seconds, while the official authorities denied this claim saying that this figure is too exaggerated and that the correct figure is one every 6 seconds! So, I murmured, “that would be 10 cases every minute! And if multiplied by 60, the figure would be 600 rape cases in one single hour! And 600X24 = 14,400 rape cases a day, and so on to reach a round figure of 5,184,000 for the whole year! And, if we base our calculation on the associations’ estimated figures, this number would exceed 10 Million rape cases in this jungle!
- In 1997, statistics reported that some 4000 women get killed each year by their husbands or by those whom they live with, 74% of the elderly and poor are women and 85% of those live alone without any support or assistance.
- From 1979 to 1985 Latin American women who migrated to USA, had secret operations operated on them, which turned them barren, without their knowledge!
The Heavenly Sanctuary Allah sent prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (PBUH), as mercy to all humanity. His characteristics changed the ugly face of history and shaped a new an unprecedented life for humankind and all its civilizations.
Islam came to rule the following, “… And due to them [i.e. the wives] is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable”. 2:228
Islam says,"…And live with them in kindness”.4:19
Islam says,"… do not prevent them from remarrying their [former] husbands…”. 2:232
Islamsays,“…But give them [a gift of] compensation - the wealthy according to his capability and the poor according to his capability…” 2:236
Islamsays,“…Lodge them where you dwell, according to your means…” 65:6 Islamsays,“…and do not harm them in order to oppress them…” 65:6
Islamsays,"…so, give them their due compensation as an obligation.” 4: Islamsays,“…and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave (of the inheritance).” 4:7
Islamsays,“… and for women is a share of what they have earned…” 4:32
Islamsays,"… andgive them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you…” 24:33
Islamsays,"…They are clothing [cover] for you and you are clothing [cover] for them…” 2:187
Islamsays,"…O my people! These are my daughters; they are purerfor you…" 11:78
Islamsays,"… seek no meansagainst them… “4:34 Islamsays,"…It is not lawful for you to inherit the women by compulsion…” 4:19 Islamsays,“… and do not make difficulties for them in order to take back part of what you gave them…” 4:19
Islamsays," …then [after that] either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment…” 2:229

Mercy on Earth:
The honorable Messenger (PBUH) came to highlight for us the status of women:
- He was once asked,“Who is your most favorite person?” He answered, “Aisha [who was his wife].”
- He used to bring gifts and presents and say,“take this to so and so, she was a friend of Khadija [who was his first wife].”
- He (peace be upon him) is the one who said,“Iurge you to treat women well.”
- He also said,“A believing husband should not harbor hatred to his a believing wife. If she has characters that he hates, he should ignore them and concentrate on her good characters”.
- He also said,“Women and men complement one another in humanity”.
- He also said,"The best of you is he who treats his family well, and I am the best of you in treating my family".
- He also said,“It is an obligation on you to clothe them [your wives] and provide for them in kindness”.
- He also said,"The greatest returns from your money [in rewards from Allah], is the dinar you spend on your family".
- He also said,“A righteous woman is one of the sources of happiness for the son of Adam”.
- In the Prophetic Sunnah (traditions), Aisha (his wife – may Allah be pleased with her) was quoted as having said, “Allah’s apostle and I used to wash from the water in one container”.
- The prophet (PBUH) also said,"whatever you spend [for the sake of Allah] you will reap the rewards for it, even if it is the morsel that you place in your wife’s mouth”.
- From the biography of the prophet (PBUH), it was cited that a woman came to the prophet (PBUH) and said,“O prophet of Allah, ask Allah to bless me and on my husband” so the prophet (PBUH) said, “May Allah's peace and blessings be upon you and your husband”.
There are numerous proofs that Islam is the true liberator of women .To clarify further, I will now explain how woman's rights are protected and safeguarded in Islam, throughout all the stages of her life, from the cradle to the grave
1. Islam safeguards the woman's rights as a helpless fetus in her mother's abdomen. If a mother gets divorced, while pregnant, Islam enjoined on the father to spend on her and support her financially during pregnancy. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, " … and if they were pregnant then you should spent on them until they deliver their babies" 65:6
2. Islam safeguards the woman's rights by ruling out that a baby's mother should not be punished or penalized whilepregnant with him/her, so that the baby does not suffer consequently. In the Sunnah of the prophet muhammad (peace be upon him), it was narratedthat a Lady from Ghamid came to the prophet to receive punishment for her sins saying, “O messenger of Allah purify me from my sins”. The prophet replied saying, “No, not until you have delivered your baby”.
2. 5. Islam safeguards the woman'srights as a suckling infant; Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, “Mothers shall breast feed their children for two whole years; (that is) for those who wish to complete the suckling.” 2:233
6. Islam safeguards the woman's rights as a suckling infant. It was narrated that after the Lady from Ghamid delivered her baby, she went to the prophet and requested the application of the penalty on her but the prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "go breastfeed your baby and come back after he has been weaned
3. . 7. Islam safeguards the woman's rights after she is born, through the provision of clothing and means of living for her: "… Upon the father is the duty of providing for the mother [and her child] and clothing her according to what is acceptable” 2:2338. Islam safeguarded the woman's rights during the period of raising and bringing her up, which lasts a number of years. Islam makes it incumbent on the father to provide for her during this period, which is a natural extension to providing for children in general.
9. Islam safeguards the woman's rights to inheritance throughout her life, from early to old age. Allah(SWT) says in the Quran, “… and if there be women more than two, then theirs is two-thirds of the inheritance, and if there be one ( only ) then the half " 4:1110.Islam protects the woman's right in choosing a suitable husband, where she has the right to accept and consent (in spoken words) to the marriage if she had been married previously. The prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "A woman who had been married previously shall be married only after her expressed order has been obtained…”
11. Islam protects the woman's right when she weds if she has never been married before. The prophet (Peace be upon him) said, " … and a virgin shall be married only after her consent is obtained ".
12. Islam protects the woman's right in marriage, and makes it incumbent upon her husband to give her a dowry. Allah (SWT)says "… So for whatever you enjoy [of marriage] from them, give them their due compensation as an obligation.” 4:24
13. Islam protects the woman's right to keep her dowry after divorce. The husband has no right to claim any part of the dowry in exchange for granting divorce unless the wife gives up her right to it in order to obtain her freedom. Allah (SWT) says: “… And it is not lawful for you to take anything of what you have given them unless both fear that they will not be able to keep [within] the limits of Allah.” 2:229
14. Islam protects the woman's rights to ownership and disposition of property, her rights to enter into sales and purchase contracts, to rent and to enter into partnerships. It protects her rights to lend and mortgage, to leave a will, an endowment or a charity.
15. Islam protects the woman's rights to request the annulment of the marriage contract when hidden faults in her husband’s character become apparent. The prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There shall be no harming, nor reciprocal harming”.
16. Islam protects the woman's rights to honor her dignity and prohibits using her as an object of lustful enjoyment even within an official marriage contract. Islam has therefore prohibited the “mut'ah marriage”, a fixed-term (temporary) marriage, during which the woman is used solely for sexual enjoyment, and then divorced after the lapse of that period. Our honorable prophet has prohibited that until the Day of Judgment.
17. Islam protects the woman's rights to leave a will after her death. Allah (SWT) says, “… of what your wives leave… after any bequest they [may have] made or a debt”. 2:12
4. 18. Islam protects the woman's rights when divorced. Allah (SWT) says, “… for divorced women a provision in kindness: a duty for those who guard (against evil)”. 2:241
19. Islam protects the woman's rights when she is pregnant, a right she shares with the unborn fetus. Allah (SWT) says: “ … and if they were pregnant then you should spend on them until they deliver their babies…" 65:6
20. Islam protects the woman's rights for an accommodation in the case of revocable divorce. Allah (SWT) says, “…Lodge them where you dwell, according to your means…” 65:6
21. Islam protects the woman's rights by regulating the rules of divorce. In this regards she cannot be divorced unless in a state of purity [not menstruating] and during a period where no sexual intercourse has taken place, to ensure that there is no pregnancy. This is important to establish the nature of her prescribed waiting period, which Allah has fixed for women meant to be divorced ('Iddah). Allah (SWT) says: “ … divorce them for [the commencement of] their waiting period and keep count of the waiting period…” 65:1
22. Islam protects the woman's rights to a gift if she is divorced before the consummation of marriage or the nomination of her dowry, as a gesture of solace and consolation to her. Allah (SWT) says, “There is no blame upon you if you divorce women you have not touched, nor specified for them an obligation. But give them [a gift of] compensation - the wealthy according to his capability and the poor according to his capability…” 2:236
23. Islam protects the woman's rights in the case of divorce after the nomination of her dowry but before the consummation of marriage, to take half the dowry unless she forgoes her right to it. Allah (SWT) says, “And if you divorce them before you have touched them and you have already specified for them an obligation, then [give] half of what you specified - unless they (the women) forgo the right to it…” 2:237
24. Islam protects the woman's rights to choose to return to her husband who divorced her once or twice after the end of her prescribed waiting period (‘Iddah) with a new marriage contract. Islam prohibits preventing her from doing so if there is an agreement between the two parties. Allah (SWT) says, “… do not prevent them from marrying their [former] husbands, if they mutually agree on equitable terms”. 2:232
25. Islam protects the woman's rights to have custody over her children unless she remarries. The prophet (peace be upon him) said, “You have more right over him unless you [re] marry”.
26. Islam protects the woman's rights by enforcing the conditions of the prescribed waiting period (‘Iddah) so that her pregnancy can be determined and if so, her rights can be maintained. Allah (SWT) says, “Divorced women remain in waiting [i.e. do not remarry] for three periods.” 2:228
. 61. Islam protects the woman's rights by protecting her body and soul together. It equates her to a precious jewel, the beauty of which no one other than her husband is allowed to enjoy. Hijab has therefore been ordained in Islam to safeguard the woman’s honor, elevate her status and to protect her from the harm of stalkers. Allah (SWT) says, “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known [as chaste believing women] and not be abused” 33:59
64. Islam protects the woman's rights as a mother even if she were a disobedient Muslim or an infidel. It made it incumbent on her children to treat her with kindness and graciousness, and warned against using abusive words against her no matter how mild. Allah (SWT) says, “… say not to them [your parents] ‘fie’ and do not repel them but speak to them a gracious word” 17:23
66. Islam protects the woman's rights in taking her counsel and respecting her opinion. This is amplified in the tradition of the prophet (peace be upon him) when the prophet he took the advice of his wife Umm Salama during the Al-Hudaibiya treaty as has been narrated by Al-Bukhari and others.
69. Islam protects the woman's rights in preserving her health by giving her license not to fast if she was pregnant or breast-feeding babies. The prophet (peace by upon him) said, “Allah has relieved the traveler of part of the prayers, and the pregnant and breast-feeding women the fasting
71. Islam protects the woman's rights in making her the best enjoyment of the worldly life. The prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The worldly life is an enjoyment, and the best enjoyment therein is a righteous wife
Muslim women dress in a way that is modest and dignified. The purpose of clothing is not only to protect oneself from physical elements, but also to protect oneself from immorality and pride. Some traditions of dress, and more generally, the treatment of women in some Muslim countries and societies, are often a reflection of culture. This is very often inconsistent and even contrary to Islam teachings
The famous actress Marilyn Monroe, who wrote an advice to fellow women just before her suicide, said, “Beware of glory … beware of those who deceive you with stardom… I am the most miserable woman on earth… I could not be a mother… I am a woman who prefers staying at home and leading the honorable family life above everything else. The honorable family life is the symbol of true happiness for any woman, if not for the whole of humanity”. In the end she said, “I have been wronged by all the people, working in the movies makes cheap commodities of women, no matter what the glory or the fame”.
. A Message to women all over the world
Dear women, these rights are not man-made, but rather a mercy from the Lord of the worlds presented in the form of the religion of Islam. Before, and even more than, you, Islam was a subject of injustice. This is Islam, which the soldiers of Satan, from the east and the west, have fought. This is Islam, which the leaders of liberalism have falsely accused as having transgressed women’s rights. What type of a so-called ‘civilized’ system do you live under? And one last question; what excuse do you have for not embracing the mercy of Allah represented by Islam?
Mocking prophet Mohammad:
Firstly: We and every Muslim who feels pride in his religion is grieved by what these fools and criminals have done by mocking our prophet muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who is the best man who ever walked on this earth, and he is the leader of the earlier and later generations, may the blessings and peace of my Lord be upon him.
This insolence is nothing strange on their part, rather it is to be expected of them.
Moreover this crime – although it breaks our hearts and fills them with anger, and we are prepared to sacrifice our lives in defence of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) – is nevertheless something which brings us glad tidings of their doom, and tells us that the end of their supremacy is at hand. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Truly, We will suffice you against the scoffers” [al-Hijr 15:95]
Allaah will suffice His prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) against the criminals who mock him. He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“For he who hates you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), he will be cut off (from posterity and every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter)” [al-Kawthar 108:3]
i.e., he is scorned and humiliated and cut off from all that is good.
When the Muslims besieged a stronghold and its people resisted, then they heard them mocking and reviling the prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), they would sense that victory was at hand, and it would only be a short time before Allaah granted them victory, to avenge His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Al-Saarim al-Maslool (p. 116-117).
There are many historical cases where those who mocked the prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) were destroyed and finished off.
Moreover, why do they resent the leader of mankind, muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?
They resent him because he called people to believe in the Oneness of God (Tawheed), and they do not believe that God is One.
They resent him because he venerated his Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, and declared Him to be far above what these fabricators say, as they attributed a wife and son to Him.
They resent him because he called people to the loftiest of morals and to give up the lowest. He called them to virtue and to block all the means that lead to immorality, but they want moral disorder and unlimited sexual liberty.
They want to indulge in the swamp of evil whims and desires, and they have got what they want!
They resent him because he is the Messenger of Allaah! Allaah, may He be exalted, is the One Who chose him above all mankind to convey His message and receive His revelation.
The signs of his Prophethood are innumerable.
Have they not heard about the splitting of the moon? Have they not heard how water sprang from his fingers time after time?
Have they not heard about his greatest sign, which is the Holy Qur’aan, the words of the Lord of the Worlds, which Allaah has protected so that it has not been tampered with by those who would distort it? Whereas their books which were revealed to their Prophets have been tampered with to a large extent.
“Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, “This is from Allaah,” to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby” [al-Baqarah 2:79].
The greatest proof of the truth of our prophet muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the fact that his religion has continued for so many centuries to prevail and be victorious. Throughout his lifetime (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) he continued to prevail over his enemies. The wisdom of Allaah dictates that no liar who lies about him and his religion can ever prevail for a long time. Indeed, in their books, which their scholars concealed and distorted, it says that the liar who falsely claims to be a prophet will only survive for thirty years or so, then his message will fade away.
It was narrated from one of their kings that a man who followed the same religion as him (Christian) was brought to him, who used to revile the prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and accuse him of lying. The king summoned his religious scholars and asked them: How long does a liar remain for? They said: Such and such – thirty years or thereabouts. The king said: This religion of muhammad has lasted for more than five hundred years or six hundred years [i.e., at the time of that king], and it is prevailing and is accepted and followed. How can he be a liar? Then he had that man beheaded.
Sharh al-‘Aqeedah al-Asfahaaniyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him).
Do they not know that many of their wise men, kings and scholars, when the pure and clear call of Islam reached them, had no choice but to affirm the truth of this religion, and they venerated the prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and many of them announced their entry into Islam?
The king of Abyssinia, the Najaashi (Negus) affirmed that, and became a Muslim.
When the prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent a letter to Heraclius the king of Byzantium, calling him to Islam, Heraclius affirmed that he was indeed a Prophet, and he thought of announcing his Islam, and he wished that he could go to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and be his servant, but he feared that his people would kill him, so he remained a kaafir and died in that state.
Many of their contemporaries are still proclaiming that.
1- Michael Hart said in his book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History (p. 13), where he put muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) at the head of his list of one hundred: I chose muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to be top of this list … because muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.
2- The Englishman George Bernard Shaw wrote a book called Muhammad, which was burned by the British authorities. He said: The world is in the utmost need of a man with the mentality of Muhammad.
Medieval ecclesiastics, either through ignorance of bigotry, painted Mohammadanism in the darkest colors. They were in fact; trained to hate both the man muhammad and his to them was anti-Christ. But I have studied his life, and found him to be extraordinary. I have reached the conclusion that he was never an enemy to Christianity. He must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it much needed peace and happiness.
3- Annie Besant said: It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme.
4- The Austrian Schabrak said: Mankind may be proud of having a man like muhammad among them, for despite being illiterate he was able more than ten centuries ago to introduce legislation that we Europeans would be the happiest ever if we could produce something of equally high quality.
5- Dr. Zwemer (a Canadian Orientalist): muhammad was an able reformer, eloquent and well spoken, courageous and daring, a great thinker. We cannot attribute to him anything that contradicts these qualities. This Qur’aan that he brought and his history bear witness to the truth of these claims.
6- The English philosopher Thomas Carlyle, the Nobel Prize winner, says in his book Heroes: It is very shameful for any individual in this era to listen to what is said about the religion of Islam being a fabrication and muhammad being a treacherous fabricator. Throughout his life we see him holding firm beliefs, sincere in resolve, generous and kind, compassionate, pious, virtuous, very serious. In spite of that, he was easy-going, cheerful, friendly, and even sometimes light-hearted. He was just, sincere in intention, smart, chivalrous, and quick-witted, as if he carried in his heart the lamps of every dark night, filled with light; a naturally great man who never studied in school or at the hand of a teacher, because he had no need of that.
7- Goethe, the German poet, said: We Europeans with all our concepts and ideas have not yet attained that which muhammad attained, and no one will ever surpass him. I searched in history for the loftiest example for man to follow, and I found it in the prophet Muhammad. Thus the truth must prevail and become supreme, because muhammad succeeded in subjugating the whole world by means of the message of Divine Oneness.
If that is the case, then the entire world – with no alternative – must regard the greatness of muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) among all of creation above all greatness, and his virtue above all virtues, and his status as greater than any other. The world must unite in believing in the message of muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and that he is the Final prophet of Allaah.
We would like to make the most of this opportunity to call these people to Islam, for what their sinful hands have fabricated cannot be erased except by Islam. But if they are stubborn and persist in their ways, then let them receive tidings of the punishment of Hell, to abide therein forever. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers” [al-Maa’idah 5:72]
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]
The prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one among this nation, Jew or Christian, hears of me then dies not believing in that with which I was sent, but he will be one of the people of the Fire.” Narrated by Muslim (153).
2. Exposure of the West’s double standards. Here they cite freedom of opinion, but every wise man knows that this so-called freedom of opinion should stop before violating the sanctity of others and transgressing against them. They are lying in their claims of freedom of opinion. We all remember what happened a few years ago when one government decided to destroy the idols in their country; there was a global outcry! What about this so-called freedom of opinion? Why don’t they regard this also as freedom of opinion?
But everyone should understand just who it is that hates the other, and does not respect his sanctity, and declares war against him every time he gets the opportunity.
4. The falseness of their claim with which they have filled the world, namely the dialogue of civilizations that is based on respect for others and not transgressing against them. What kind of dialogue do they want?! What respect do they claim to show? They want us to respect them and honour them, and even to bow and prostrate to them, but all they do is make fun of us and mock us and wrong us even more.
The exemplary justice of the prophet
In the Qur'an, Allah commands believers to "Be upholders of justice, bearing witness
for Allah alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives. Whether they are rich or poor, Allah is well able to look after them. Do not follow your own desires and deviate from the truth..." (Surat an-Nisa': 135). With the rules he imposed on Muslims, his just and tolerant attitude towards those of other religions, languages, races and tribes, and his way of not discriminating between rich and poor, but treating everybody equally, Allah's Messenger (saas) is a great example to all of mankind.
The prophet (saas) abided by Allah's commands, even with such difficult people, and never made any concessions in his implementation of justice. He became an example for all times with the words, "My Lord has commanded justice…" (Surat al-A‘raf: 29).
During the time of the prophet (saas), Christians, Jews and pagans were all treated equally. The prophet (saas) abided by the verse "There is no compulsion where the religion is concerned…" (Surat al-Baqara: 256), explaining the true religion to everyone, but leaving them free to make up their own minds. The noble attitude of the prophet (saas), being in total harmony with the morality of the Qur'an, should be taken as an example of how members of different religions today should be treated. During his final sermon, the prophet (saas) called on Muslims in these terms:
" There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab and for a non-Arab over an Arab; nor for white over the black nor for the black over the white except in piety. Verily the noblest among you is he who is the most pious." (4.
)
The exemplary justice of the prophet (saas)
, Allah's Messenger (saas) is a great example to all of mankind.
But if they turn away, say, 'Allah is enough for me. There is no god but Him. I have put my trust in Him. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.'
(Surat at-Tawba: 129)
Allah says this to His prophet (saas) in one verse
They are people who listen to lies and consume ill-gotten gains. If they come to you, you can either judge between them or turn away from them. If you turn away from them, they cannot harm you in any way. But if you do judge, judge between them justly. Allah loves the just. (Surat al-Ma'ida: 42)
).
A number of incidents testify to the prophet (saas)'s justice. He lived in a place where people of different religions, languages, races and tribes all co-existed. It was very difficult for those societies to live together in peace and security, and to check those who sought to spread dissension. One group could grow aggressive towards and even attack another over the slightest word or action. Yet, the justice of the prophet (saas) was a source of peace and security for those other communities, just as much as it was for Muslims. During the time of the prophet (saas), Christians, Jews and pagans were all treated equally. The prophet (saas) abided by the verse "There is no compulsion where the religion is concerned..." (Surat al-Baqara: 256), explaining the true religion to everyone, but leaving them free to make up their own minds.
In another verse, Allah revealed to the prophet (saas) the kind of justice and and conciliation he needed to adopt towards those of other religions:
So call and go straight as you have been ordered to. Do not follow their whims and desires but say, "I believe in a Book sent down by Allah and I am ordered to be just between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. We have our actions and you have your actions. There is no debate between us and you. Allah will gather us all together. He is our final destination." (Surat ash-Shura: 15)
This noble attitude of the prophet (saas), being in total harmony with the morality of the Qur'an, should be taken as an example of how members of different
The prophet (saas)'s justice brought about understanding between people of different races. In many of his addresses, even in his final sermon, the prophet (saas) stated that superiority lay not in race but in godliness as Allah states in the verse:
Mankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The noblest among you in Allah's sight is the one with the most taqwa [righteousness, fear of Allah]. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Surat al-Hujurat: 13)
Two hadiths report the prophet (saas) as saying:
"You are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust. Let the people cease to boast about their ancestors."10
The agreement made with the Christians of Najran in the south of the Arabian Peninsula was another fine example of the justice of the prophet (saas). One of the articles in the agreement reads:
"The lives of the people of Najran and its surrounding area, their religion, their land, property, cattle and those of them who are present or absent, their messengers and their places of worship are under the protection of Allah and guardianship of His Prophet."13
The Compact of Medina, signed by the Muslim immigrants from Mecca, the indigenous Muslims of Medina and the Jews of Medina is another important example of justice. As a result of this constitution, which established justice between communities with differing beliefs and ensured the protection of their various interests, long years of enmity were brought to an end. One of the most outstanding features of the treaty is the freedom of belief it established. The relevant article reads:
Haci Nazif Bey. A verse from the Qur'an: "... [Allah commands you] When you judge between people, to judge with justice. (Surat an-Nisa': 58)
"The Jews of Banu 'Awf are one nation with the Muslims; the Jews have their religion and the Muslims have theirs..."14
Article 16 of the treaty reads: "The Jew who follows us is surely entitled to our support and the same equal rights as any one of us. He shall not be wronged nor his enemy be assisted."15 The prophet (saas)'s companions remained true to that article in the treaty, even after his death, and even practiced it with regard to Berbers, Buddhists, Brahmans and people of other beliefs.
One of the main reasons why the golden age of Islam was one of peace and security was the prophet (saas)'s just attitude, itself a reflection of Qur'anic morality.
The justice of the prophet (saas) also awoke feelings of confidence in non-Muslims, and many, including polytheists, asked to be taken under his protection. Allah revealed the following request from the polytheists in the Qur'an, and also told the prophet (saas) of the attitude he should adopt towards such people:
If any of the idolators ask you for protection, give them protection until they have heard the words of Allah. Then convey them to a place where they are safe... (Surat at-Tawba: 6)
... As long as they [whom you made a treaty with] are straight with you, be straight with them. Allah loves those who have taqwa. (Surat at-Tawba: 7)
In our day, the only solution to the fighting and conflict going on all over the world is to adopt the morality of the Qur'an, and, like the prophet (saas), never to depart from the path of justice, making no distinction between different religions, languages, or races Human Rights and Justice in Islam
Islam provides many human rights for the individual. The following are some of these human rights that Islam protects.
The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred, whether a person is Muslim or not. Islam also protects honor. So, in Islam, insulting others or making fun of them is not allowed. The prophet muhammad said: {Truly your blood, your property, and your honor are inviolable.}1
Racism is not allowed in Islam, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms:
O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with God is the most pious.2 Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Quran, 49:13)
Islam rejects certain individuals or nations being favored because of their wealth, power, or race. God created human beings as equals who are to be distinguished from each other only on the basis of their faith and piety. The prophet muhammad said: {O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black person and a black person is not better than a red person,3 except in piety.}4
One of the major problems facing mankind today is racism. The developed world can send a man to the moon but cannot stop man from hating and fighting his fellow man. Ever since the days of the prophet muhammad , Islam has provided a vivid example of how racism can be ended. The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah shows the real Islamic brotherhood of all races and nations, when about two million Muslims from all over the world come to Makkah to perform the pilgrimage.
Islam is a religion of justice. God has said:
Truly God commands you to give back trusts to those to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice.... (Quran, 4:58)
And He has said:
...And act justly. Truly, God loves those who are just. (Quran, 49:9)
We should even be just with those who we hate, as God has said:
...And let not the hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety.... (Quran, 5:8)
The prophet muhammad said: {People, beware of injustice,5 for injustice shall be darkness on the Day of Judgment.}6
And those who have not gotten their rights (i.e. what they have a just claim to) in this life will receive them on the Day of Judgment, as the prophet said: {On the Day of Judgment, rights will be given to those to whom they are due (and wrongs will be redressed)...}7
His Life:
At the age of forty, muhammad received his first revelation from God through the Angel Gabriel. The revelations continued for twenty-three years, and they are collectively known as the Quran.
As soon as he began to recite the Quran and to preach the truth which God had revealed to him, he and his small group of followers suffered persecution from unbelievers. The persecution grew so fierce that in the year 622 God gave them the command to emigrate. This emigration from Makkah to the city of Madinah, some 260 miles to the north, marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar.
After several years, muhammad and his followers were able to return to Makkah, where they forgave their enemies. Before muhammad died, at the age of sixty-three, the greater part of the Arabian Peninsula had become Muslim, and within a century of his death, Islam had spread to Spain in the West and as far East as China. Among the reasons for the rapid and peaceful spread of Islam was the truth and clarity of its doctrine. Islam calls for faith in only one God, Who is the only one worthy of worship.
The prophet muhammad was a perfect example of an honest, just, merciful, compassionate, truthful, and brave human being. Though he was a man, he was far removed from all evil characteristics and strove solely for the sake of God and His reward in the Hereafter. Moreover, in all his actions and dealings, he was ever mindful and fearful of God.
